The lanaguge of chance
The likelihood of an event occuring is called the probability of chance. Everyday we use terms such as 'unlikely' 'definitely, 'even chance' 'probably and 'impossible' to describe whether or not a particluar event will happen. Some events are impossible, for example this website will not grow legs and walk out of the room, some events are certain such as the the sun will set in the evening today.
Lesson Focus: By the end of this lesson today you should be able to accurately determine the likelihood of events occuring, using probility language and percentages.

A Bar Graph (also called Bar Chart) is a graphical display of data using bars of different heights.
A bar graph is a chart that uses either horizontal or vertical bars to show comparisons among categories. One axis of the chart shows the specific categories being compared, and the other axis represents a discrete value. Some bar graphs present bars clustered in groups of more than one (grouped bar graphs), and others show the bars divided into subparts to show cumulate effect (stacked bar graphs).

Lesson Focus: By the end of this lesson you should be able to tell me what data you record on a bar graph is and use existing data to answer questions.
